If you want to crate train a puppy at night you will need to patient as it won’t happen overnight but it will happen.

Have the crate where the puppy is for example if you are playing in the lounge bring the cage where the puppy can see it. Extend the game you are playing with the puppy and throw his toy inside the cage. At this stage never lock the puppy into it as it will be seen as a place to go for punishment.

What I have found that works well is to set the cage initially in your bedroom so he can smell and see you. Be strong at this point as he will whimper to be close to you as you are his new family. If you are not firm with him at this stage you will have him in bed with you every night!
