Winter clogs for warmth!

Posted by Kelly on Thursday, 29 September, 2011

Clogs have many great features and winter clogs have even more. The nicest part about clogs is that you can slip them on in a hurry to go outside for something like fetching the paper. Clogs are also wonderful to wear for work.

Clogs have higher soles that normal shoes and are designed that way to raise the feet above things like puddles and spills. The soles of winter clogs are just as high but have the extra feature of traction treads in case you need to trek across snow or through the mud to get somewhere.

Another great feature of winter clogs is that they are water resistant if not waterproof. Which means your feet can stay dry even if you accidently step into a puddle or snow slush. Also, many of the clogs designed for winter have a removable innersole that can be taken out for drying or comfort.

If you enjoy wearing clogs for the convenience of being able to slip them “on” and “off” quickly if you need to go outdoors for something or to walk across a cold floor, you can have the same luxury with winter clogs. The difference is that the winter clogs will keep your feet warmer and dryer.

Safety for your feet – Steel Toe Safety Shoes And Boots

Posted by Saumil Patel on Monday, 19 September, 2011

Steel toe boots (sometimes called safety shoes or steel capped shoes) are a form of protective and highly durable footwear reinforced in the toe. This reinforcement usually consists of a sole plate that secures your feet against punctures and falling objects. While reinforcements for safety toe boots are usually crafted from toughened steel, many manufacturers also use composite materials or plastics such as thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU).
Safety work boots are widely used in the construction industry and other industrial settings, particularly because of health and occupational safety legislation. Many insurance companies also require employees working in hazardous settings to wear safety work boots. Mandatory certification of these boots may also be required in some cases.
Safety criteria in the United States require that work boots carry certain symbols to indicate the level of protection they offer.

Examples

• Boots with a class 1 toe cap and a puncture-resistant sole are indicated by a green triangle.
• Safety toe shoes with a class 2 toe cap and a puncture-resistant sole are indicated by a yellow triangle.
• Shoes that offer electrical protection carry a white square ohm symbol.
• Work boots that offer anti-static protection carry a yellow square C symbol.
• Safety boots that conduct electricity are indicated by a red square C symbol.
• Protection against chain saws is indicated by the symbol of the fir tree.

Some benefits of steel toe boots

Protection is one of the biggest and most obvious benefits of wearing safety boots. For instance, the kind of work that is done in the construction industry, particularly with heavy machinery, helps to avoid accidents and injuries. Safety toe boots are tough enough to protect your feet against most occupational hazards in the construction industry.
Self defense is another area where safety work boots can help. They are useful if you get into a fight even if you are unarmed because they double the amount of damage you do to your opponents. A well-aimed kick from a steel toe boots will probably bring a strong man down.

Some disadvantages of safety work boots

Don’t have any illusions – these boots are heavy. So although you can plant a memorable kick on someone’s backside, you won’t be able to do that as often as you like. It’s difficult to lift your foot when you are wearing a bottom-heavy work boot if you aren’t used to wearing this kind of gear.

Calluses are another unfortunate side effect of this footwear until you get used to it. Get used to beeping metal detectors at airports – they won’t let you forget you are wearing steel toe boots. But this is not a major issue since you’ll probably take your shoes off at the airport.

However, if you are looking for something more casual or trendy in the steel toe boot line, clogs or sneakers would probably look loads better. Or even you can choose from wide collection of army boots or safety toe uniform shoes.

Toning Shoes Are For Guys As Well

Posted by Hamish Hayward on Tuesday, 22 March, 2011

There can’t be a great deal of doubt that the target demographic for toning footwear such as Skechers Shape Up shoes is very definitely soccer moms and busy career women. Busy women who, due to the demands of a career, a family, or very often both, struggle to find the time they would need to visit the gym or take exercise in some other manner on a regular basis.

Toning shoes can help this group by giving them a lower body workout as they walk about during the course of their daily routine. This is done thanks to a special toning sole, the design of which varies from brand to brand, but which generally works on the principle of making the leg and bottom muscles work just a little bit harder by generating some imbalance to the walking process. The muscles react to this by trying to re-establish the body’s natural balance – and that’s why they do more work.

However, even if busy women are the largest market for this type of footwear, men are not completely overlooked. More and more of the major manufacturers in the toning shoes market, Skechers, Reebok, MBT and FitFlops, are making toning shoes aimed at men. A lot of men like these shoes because they can also help provide some relief from foot pain, back pain and joint pain. Others just don’t see why the girls should have a monopoly on shapely legs and a pert behind I suppose.

Footwear Online at the Clark Shoe UK Store

Posted by T4 on Tuesday, 14 December, 2010

Shoes boots and sandals always make nice gifts for others, no matter what the occasion. Young fellas like the sporty footwear whereas young women still prefer a smart pair of party shoes to flaunt in the city centres of a weekend. The only problem with shopping for shoes and clothing online is that there’s no option to try stuff on prior to purchase. Internet stores are constantly giving huge discounts on popular brands, but when it comes to footwear in particular, it’s always best to try it on prior to purchase. The Clark shoe UK branded footwear (among other popular names in fashion footwear), has outlets all over the country thus making a purchase as quickly as popping out for a pint of milk.

When you order anything for the feet over the computer, you then have to wait, and then you have to try them on for size, and if they don’t fit, or suit, you have to send them back and wait for a refund. Honestly, what a palaver! The only time it would be considered a safe bet to buy shoes for yourself or as a gift for others, is if you are familiar with the brand and it’s sizing, otherwise it’s a case or taking your chances.
