Why Buy a Snark Clip On Guitar Tuner?

Posted by Bob Pardue on Wednesday, 8 February, 2012

The Snark Chromatic All-Instrument Tuner comes with a stable link to your musical instrument or music stand, highly accurate tuning, and enhanced capabilities at the same time! Dependable and Quick, this musical instrument and guitar blends retro “Buck Rogers” looks with all the wonders of modern technology.

Extended frequency range to tuner all instruments – Full Color Display – Works anywhere on the head stock (no dead spots!) -”Stay Put” Clip -Tap Tempo Metronome – Visual display so it works quite well for practicing or live gigging events.

Stanley H. at Amazon affords the Snark guitar tuner Five stars out of a possible 10 and reveals …

“”Tunes Tighter Therefore You Sound Better.”

I’m satisfied with the Snark tuners. I purchased the Blue SN-1 for guitars along with the Red SN-2 with extended range with a built in mic for all devices. Much better than I assumed they’d be. Not quite as important is the finish, nevertheless the finish is exquisite. A lot better than any one of the company images I have seen on sites. The blue and red colors are a powerful rare metallic color.

The Snark only weighs in at approximately 1.5 ounces that has a very skillfully made clamp with rubber gripping jaws. The bottom jaw hinges letting it fit virtually any shape. My guitar is an Ovation with the angled head stock. The Snark clips right on and stays there. Together with a ball socket on both ends of your curved mounting post that attaches the clamp on the face I am talking 360 degress maneuvering making the Snark beautifully adaptable for just about any any situation.

It comes complete with a CR2032 Lithium 3 volt battery. It is the same type many computers use for the clock battery. These never seem to need replacing or leak. That is my working experience. Battery is kept in a very simple pull out compartment at the rear of the tuner face.

It’s a good idea to tune-up on stage right before you play given that the temperature on stage will normally be a little different than other areas of the building. The clip on tuner is fast, other noises won’t interupt the tuning because you are applying a direct contact vibration sensor, and you’re able to slide the Snark in your pocket the minute you’re finished, how handy. People will ask you where they might purchase one because they’re so impressive being so small, convenient, and fast to apply. Tuning is straightforward. To move from one note to the next is extremely fast, virtually instantaneous and the Snark face lights up like a neon sign. Very easy to learn and it perches on the guitar head stock similar to a tiny Canary.

The Red SN-2 All Instrument Tuner has extended range along with a built-in microphone option you can activate when needed. Perhaps if an musical instrument has no place to clip onto. Is developed to tune acoustic or electric guitars, bass guitars, bass violins, Bb trumpets, saxophones, flutes, just about any other instrument. I have an electric Yamaha keyboard. The Snark SN-2 will clip on the front wood piece and tune all of the keys except the 7 lowest notes, 4 naturals and 3 flats. The two Snark include a transpose function. This enables a guitarist the capability to tune using a capo on frets 1 through 4. The tuner will read the regular open string notes, E, A, D, G, B E. This is relevant because many capos depress the strings down on the fret board. This commonly leaves the notes sharp and out of tune.

A persons fingers in most cases don’t depress strings all the way down to the fret board. And so the transpose feature needs to be utilized to tune before playing with a capo to get the ideal tuning. How precise is a Snark guitar tuner? Reply, seems to be correct. The Snark company says tight. With my old tuner I could turn my guitar tuning keys more than a little bit and the tuner might not even notice. If I turn my guitar tuning keys only a little bit using Snark tuner it is aware of the difference. This is the type of tuner I needed. To secure a perfect or next to perfect tune sometimes I really could fare better with my own ears. Our ear can be the best tuning tool, but it surely takes longer and with other sounds all about an effective clip on tuner increases results most the time.

Just how exact is the Snark tuner? I used an E tuning fork to understand. I placed the E tuning fork ball on the bridge of my guitar along with the Snark at the opposite end clipped onto the head stock. The Snark instantly showed a perfect E note. I realized, this is exactly what I have been hunting for. The Snark performs perfectly for my situation. It looks great, it’s convenient, and performs quick and accurate. It’s got the chromatic scale (displays all notes and sharps). The red, All Instrument SN-2 delivers the extended range for just about any any instrument and, with a built-in mic switch option it is possible to decide on either Mic or Vibration. In addition both models have the built-in mentronome that keeps pace using a vivid red flashing heart which is sort of amusing, cool, and so clear to see.
