Samsung Star s5230 – Chip off the Old Block
The new Samsung Star s5230 is lightweight, compact and a pleasure to use. It is more angular and appears a little boxy in looks. However, it has certain design and functionality elements which make it very clear that it carries the Samsung blue blood. Everything has been updated and there are a lot of new features; however the overall styling, the touch screen, the color options for the skins and the proprietary connectivity port, indicate that the Samsung Star s5230 is a quick redesign of the prototype and prerelease unit shown before the actual launch. The only real physical changes are a darker color and no stylus, which may actually be a little mistake, considering that the resistive touch screen requires more pressure which might have been easier to apply with a stylus.
